Designing Place in South Australia
A Retrospective Exhibition

JPE is celebrating 160 years of practice. In a retrospective exhibition we look back at the decades, directors and designs which have shaped key aspects of South Australia's history and what JPE Design Studio is today. The exhibition, a visual essay spanning our entire office space, opens to the public on 21st October 2011 and will run for one month. Please feel free to pop by during office hours and take a historical architectural journey!

Exhibit @ JPE

12/01/2010

The JPE Design Studio now has its very own gallery space, exhibiting local artists, designers, students etc.

JPE branding forms the background  to the three dimensional display wall, which  has  an industrial aesthetic. The experience and interaction of this space is central to the arrival sequence  of  our clients and visitors.

This idea of visual sharing of  the local creative community  is key to the  JPE  design culture.

Adelaide Parking Day

09/21/2010

JPE Design Studio was one of the thirteen companies  who took part in  Adelaide's first ever PARK(ing) Day, a global event held  each  year in 140 cities across 21 counties and 6 continents.

'The event is based on the idea that paying a parking meter is like  'renting' a public space, and instead of parking a car, why not park something else?' (www.adelaideparkingday.com.au)

The whole process from start to finish gave JPE  not only a chance to be part of a public event highlighting the street environment but it also presented a study of people and their surrounding city, how they use it, what they really  think of it and how we can change it for the better.
