One on the Park
Framing the View
The subject site for this mixed use development is situated on a prominent corner location on the city fringe, and adjacent to the Adelaide Park Lands. Comprising of a new residential building, townhouses, offices, coffee shop and the adaptive reuse of the former St Margarets residence into office tenancies, the design has successfully managed apartment amenity, heritage sensitivity, neighbour interfaces and significant tree retention, with a high quality and articulated series of new buildings.
The facade of the residential form explores the synthesis between external expression and internal program, and uses the Park Lands context as an opportunity to explore the notion of framed views - framing the view out, but also the view in.
The proposed apartments have been designed to reflect the needs of the target market, and incorporate high levels of natural daylight, natural ventilation, functional terraces and balconies and high quality open plan living spaces.
An integrated community landscape approach to the entire site has been adopted, including the re-establishing of a wrapping garden treatment to the former St Margarets Residence along the Greenhill Rd and George St frontages.
