2024 AILA Award Wins

We are delighted with our landscape team for their recent wins and recognition at the 2024 Australian Institute of Landscape Architects Awards. JPE won for the following categories:

• Paradise Recreation Plaza - AILA Awards Parks & Open Spaces
• Keith Stephenson Reserve Playground - AILA Awards Play Spaces
• Paradise Recreation Plaza - AILA Shade Smart

For Paradise Recreation Plaza, a winner in two categories, the awards jury mentioned that “Paradise Recreation Park successfully delivers a high impact, adventure park for all ages, with special consideration given to providing high-quality spaces for youth and teens. The park does not shy away from challenging spaces, allowing kids to embrace risk, which is key in developmental learning and often overlooked in today’s risk-averse atmosphere.”

For Keith Stephenson Reserve Playground, the jury had similar comments, adding “A strong narrative is thoughtfully integrated within all design elements of the play space, with the three large endemic animal sculptures placed throughout the reserve, blurring the line between art and play.”
