King's Baptist Grammar School ELC Landscape
The ELC Outdoor Learning Area at King’s Baptist Grammar School inspires children to be challenged, take risks and engage in creative play to shape their learning future. As a direct extension of the Reggio Emilia learning principles applied indoors, the Outdoor Learning Area brings excellence in nature play and empowers children in the confident exploration of varied environments.
The design includes a play / performance deck, a sheltered sandpit, timber bridges that cross the creek way, a log climbing structure, a timber swing set and a compacted sand path that capitalizes on existing level changes, providing a variety of inviting routes to traverse the site. This design leaves space for imagination, providing a range of diverse learning opportunities that embrace nature play, allowing children to push their boundaries and learn through experience, discovery and active participation.
