SHAPE Workplace
This tailored fitout design responds to the cultural drivers of builder SHAPE, creating a comfortable and inviting home-like environment where staff and clients can gather to connect and collaborate. Adopting new ways of working, SHAPE’s new workplace encourages connectivity, inclusivity and belonging, encapsulating the feeling of wholistic comfort within the envelope of their new inner-city residence. The communal kitchen and breakout space is a focus of the space, designed to form the heart of the SHAPE home, establishing an important central destination for social connectivity, hosting clients and engaging in informal meetings. The fitout incorporates a cantilevered mezzanine floor, designed to best utilise the extensive ceiling height and provide valuable additional floor space.
Achieving a 5 Star Green Star rating, it was important for the SHAPE fitout to consider materiality and usability through a lens of sustainability. Wellbeing was also a key driver behind the design, with additional spatial offerings being incorporated into the fitout, including a wellbeing room that doubles as a health space. Biophilic design elements have also been integrated into the design, with planting and greenery woven into all spaces at different scales to contribute to improving health and wellbeing. Carefully balancing a mixture of open, semi-enclosed and enclosed spaces, the SHAPE fitout encapsulates a flexible and agile working model that caters for both team based and individual focused working with space to grow in the future.
